EWASKIW, Michael Anthony
December 30, 1964 - August 31, 2024
It is with deep sorrow, shock and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Anthony Ewaskiw, who left us on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Michael was born on December 30, 1964 in Edmonton, Alberta and was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Le-Ann; son Kaiden; daughter Tattym; fur grand baby Wedj; parents Archie and Dorothy Ewaskiw; sisters Deb Ruether (Clarence) and Darlene Germin; brother Darrell Ewaskiw (Lindy); mother-in-law Judy Babiy; sister-in-law Tammy Smeltzer (Chris Dore); brother’s-in-law Troy Babiy (Jill) and Brad Babiy (Marnie); along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family. Michael was predeceased by maternal grandparents Anton & Annie Semchyshen; paternal grandparents Nick Ewaskiw & Annie Ewaskiw-Cherniawski; favorite uncle Harold Ewaskiw and father-in-law Bill Babiy.
Michael married the love of his life, Le-Ann, in 1998, and together they raised two beautiful and amazing children. They made a life together in Sherwood Park, where Michael, along with his family were proud and faith-filled members of the St Sophia's Ukrainian Catholic Parish. Michael passionately dedicated himself to ensuring his family were well looked after and cherished entertaining family and friends at his home. Michael was deeply committed to volunteering in his community; selflessly giving of his time and finding great reward in the impact of his efforts. He was a true friend, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need, day or night. Above all, he loved his family profoundly. In honor of Michael, we ask you to pray with us in the joy and peace he has found in Christ’s Kingdom. Forever Farmstrong….. until we meet again…
A Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Sophia’s Ukrainian Catholic Parish – Baseline Road and Range Road 224 – Sherwood Park, Alberta with Fr. Rendy Yackimec & Fr. Serhiy Harahuc officiating. Graveside service and interment to follow at 3:00 p.m. in St. Demetro Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery – Hilliard Farms.
