October 1, 1945 – August 12, 2021
Born on October 1, 1945, Leona gave up her fight with cancer on August 12, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband Fritz Carl Kummetz and her parents Russell and Effie Dewey. Leona is survived by her one brother Rodney Dewey of Edmonton; one sister Patricia Walker of Whitecourt; two nephews Randy Dewey and Brett Walker; two nieces Pam Walker and Kathryn (Cricket) Walker; one great-niece Carly Bruce; three great-nephews Darcy Walker, Caleb Bruce and David Bruce; and one great-great nephew Arthur Walker. She is also leaving behind many wonderful friends in and around Vegreville.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to VALID (4843 49 St, Vegreville, AB T9C 1K7) or Prairie Tails Animal Rescue Society.
