My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I didn't know Jennie's husband,Leonard, but Jennie touched my heart when we had our youngest daughter, Amanda. Jennie was our immunization nurse then at the health unit; I was and still am very emotional so I would let Jennie and my husband, Len,do the immunization. Thank you,Jennie, you practiced your profession well.

It is difficult for me to think about Uncle Marvin without also thinking about Auntie Jennie. To me, they are two sides of the same coin. In my mind, this one of the highest tributes I can pay to Uncle Marvin, because his love and leadership in a godly marriage and the family and the heritage of faith that came out of that are precious gifts -- gifts that exemplify Christ's love for the church. Their marriage was always an example to me, of true Christ-centred love and companionship. They lived out their faith together so well, extending the hand of God’s love to the people around them and trusting in His faithfulness. They had a beautifully sweet, gracious and affirming way with one another. And they delighted in being together, living out the gift that God had given them in one another. They loved their children and grandchildren so much, and even from afar, I could see how they invested in them with such joy.
Of course it is impossible to remember Uncle Marvin without thinking of his wonderful musical talent. I also remember the warmth with which they received our family on some of our Alberta trips. I remember going to Deep Cove with them and my parents, when Anthony and I were first engaged, and having such a good day together. I remember how they sent me money when I was a student at Prairie Bible College, out of the blue, at a time when I was in real financial need.
I had a friend who was diagnosed with cancer at a similar time, and that friend, sadly, chose to avail himself of the MAiD program to end his life. It has made me think a lot about how Uncle Marvin persisted in “fighting the good fight” and “running the race set before [him]”, with Auntie Jennie’s unceasing love and support. In doing so, they allowed their trust in God to shine through them as a testimony to others, even in the hardest of circumstances.
I know that Uncle Marvin’s passing leaves an enormous hole in many hearts. We will continue to pray for Auntie Jennie, Blake and Colleen and their kids, and Reid and Meghan, as they grieve. We are so very sorry for your loss, and love you very much.
With all our love and continued prayers,
Tracy & Anthony

While Marvin entered my life as my "little brother", he became a gentle giant who had a big, kind and friendly heart. He has been such a blessing to both our immediate and extended families and loved by all who knew him. Marvin blessed many, many people with his gift of music whether in church or just sitting around visiting together. Judy and I have many happy memories of the times when Marvin and Jennie visited us in the Philippines and in California; then in more recent years those visits we made to see them in Parksville and doing fun things together.
Marvin had a strong and vibrant faith in the Lord and lived his life in such a way as to honour Him. I am very confident that His faithfulness to the Saviour is now being rewarded as he received the "Welcome home, good and faithful servant." You will always be cherished and remembered, Marvin!
Judy and I extend our love and condolences to Jennie, Blake, Colleen and their children as well as to Reid and Meghan.
