I knew Neal when he was the PPCLI in Victoria. He was at my 21st birthday party in 1961. My mom made him a birthday cake on his birthday. My dad had a 56 Buick and Neal bought one also. When he was in Wainwright, we took his car and had a radio put in. Cost $45.00 for radio and installation. My mom and I went with him the next time he went to Moosejaw. Cy, Nella and Gail made us feel right at home. Wonderful family!!! I also knew his relative Jim Humble who lived in Victoria. Jim was a butcher and his wife Evie was a clerk in a bank. When they retired, Neal and I spent quite some time with them. Jim was a kind, caring man and really fit into the Humble clan. It was a pleasure to know all of them.

I knew Neal in the years he spent with the PPCLI at Work Point Barracks, Victoria, B.C. After leaving Lahr Germany they did not come back to Vancouver, Island.
Neal was always a kind, thoughtful, gentle man and a real gentleman. He was so well liked by everyone who knew him.
Sending love and hugs to all his family.
I am going through old photo albums to see if I can find any photos from the late 1950s to about 1962.
It may take awhile as I just moved from Ladysmith,B.C. up island to Port Alberni where family can look after us oldtimers. Terry Kowall
