Ford, Margaret Jeanette
Margaret Jeanette Ford (née Gunn) passed away peacefully early on September 24, 2019 in Vegreville, Alberta at the age of seventy-seven with two of her daughters by her side. She was diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma just eleven days earlier and was surrounded by family every moment afterwards. Her last view of this world was on September 23, 2019 when she opened her eyes to see her devoted husband, Allen Robert Ford, kiss her good morning on their 61st wedding anniversary.
Margaret was born in Birtle, Manitoba to Oral Deforest Gunn and Lucille Margaret Puddicombe (née Paul) on June 3, 1942. She was swept off her feet by a dashing sailor when she was young, eventually marrying him in Victoria, BC. They lived most of their life together on Vancouver Island, from Victoria to Parksville and many places in between. They also spent over ten years in Salmon Arm and Enderby, BC before moving to Alberta in April 2017 to be closer to family.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Allen, and her five children: Terry (Bob), Wanda (Darren), Sherry, Robert (Rebekah), and Glenn. She will be deeply missed by her husband, five children and their spouses, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, seven brothers and sisters, her husband’s family, numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Margaret had a generous heart, a contagious laugh, and a smile that sparkled in her eyes and lit up a room. Her passing has left a big hole in many lives, but we are comforted by the thought that she is at peace and has been reunited with her parents, her sister, Beverly Dianne Soos (née Puddicombe), and many beloved friends who preceded her in death. Margaret will forever be in our hearts and we will love her as much tomorrow as we did yesterday and do today.
Margaret requested that no memorial service be held; however, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation.
