Obituary of Edward Ionetz

IONETZ, Edward

May 16, 1937 – May 1, 2018

On Tuesday, May 1, 2018, Edward Ionetz, formerly of Hairy Hill, Alberta passed away with family at his side

at the age of 80 years.

Edward is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mildred; son Calvin (Dawn) Ionetz and daughter Starla (Wayne) Smilar; four grandchildren Alex, Bailey, Evan and Arabella. Brother Lawrence (Shirley) Ionetz; Sisters Rosemary Wolchansky, Jeanette (Lorne) Berg, sister-in-law Kathy Ionetz, along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Edward was predeceased by his parents Condra and Mary Ionetz; brothers John, George, Samuel, Micheal and sisters Dora Ionetz, Katherine Ionetz, Helen Shears.

A Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 7:00p.m. at Autumn Rose Funeral Home in Vegreville, Alberta with Father M. Paciuk officiating.  Private interment to follow in St. Mary’s Romanian Orthodox Church-Hairy Hill.  Memorial donations may be made to the “Two Hills Health Centre c/o Box 160, Two Hills, Alberta, T0B 4K0” or to Haying in the 30’s co/ Box 35, Malaig, AB.,T0A 2K0.”
