I only became aware of the passing of the remarkable Gill recently.
My apologies if my appearing here causes offence to anyone, but I just wanted to say farewell to an amazing woman who had the unfailing gift of humour and unshakable common sense
It was an immense privilege to know her even just for the moment in life I did. For the tiny time I had with her, to talk to her was life inspiring; she touched my soul as I am sure she did many hundreds of others. I will always remember her with enormous fondness and in friendship. I think of her now whenever I hear Joni Mitchell if that means anything to canadians especially.
I know she will rest in peace because peace is the real gift she brought to this earth. I always loved that grin and genuineness. She saw the bs and rationalised it.
Be good Gill and don't give the almighty too bad a time. Doing his best after all. Has some problems going on back here Gill.
Condolences to those who celebrate her ever being here. Be well

I was blessed to meet Jillian and Sheila June 2017. I value the precious time that we shared discussing the meaning of life and family. She was a rare and priceless treasure. Like all of you who love her, I will miss her as a mentor and friend. She had the rare quality of speaking her mind and truth, come what may. I valued that. She loved songs by Buffy St. Marie and I think this song says it best. Tribute to you Gillian until we met again.
"Up Where We Belong" by Buffy St. Marie:
Who knows what tomorrow brings
In a world where few hearts survive.
All I know is the way I feel
If it's real I'll keep it alive
The road is long
And there are mountains in our way
But we climb a step everyday
Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagels cry on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the worlds we know
Up where the clear winds blow

Everyday since you took the next step in your journey I have remembered all the things we used to talk about. It's with your Love and Guidance that I was able to achieve the steps I needed to help out when required. I have great memories of hugs, gentle discipline and great mentoring. You will be greatly missed but your memory will live on in those of us that are left behind till we someday meet up again.
Thoughts and hugs to Sheila and the rest of Gillian's family as they face these next days letting Gillian fly on Angels wings.

Deepest Sympathy Sheila plus Jillian's family; What a beautiful smile in that picture of Jillian. A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of meeting Jillian just outside of the St. Joseph's hospital; not even thinking that would be our last encounter. I happened to be one of their employees when Sheila and Jillian owned Family Health Services.I must say that they both gave me a sense of perseverance and bravity; working with patients that had trauma in their lives. I feel that is why I am who I am today. Till we meet again, Sherry Fedyna.
