Ernie will be greatly missed. He was a friend always ready with a warm hug and good
conversation. Ernie was part of the old bowling gang, 20 years ago. Honest, fun and genuine and a man that was respected by his peers. My father and Ernie were in the hospital together this summer. We spoke often, he

I will always hold a special place in my heart for Uncle Ernie and Aunt Irene. They were wonderful, fun loving, people who were always welcoming. They made Vegreville a magical place for me when visiting them as a kid, expecially that Christmas that we were fortunate enough to spend with them. My mother always spoke highly of them and shared many stories with us of when she spent time living with them as a teenager. I feel very fortunate to have seen them one last time before they passed. We went to a “new” local restaurant and I made a comment about how the town has changed. Uncle Ernie said “Yes, I don’t know anyone here anymore!”. Shortly after people started coming to the table to say hi...it turned out he knew almost everyone there! I have nothing but happy memories that make me smile and giggle. And that’s what I will remember about them. So many great memories that I will cherish forever. Love you forever. Rest In Peace.

Dear Gail, Kim, Darren, Garth and families.
My sincerest condolences on the passing of your Dad. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met. He always stopped to talk when I was walking my dog. His warm smile and kind words will be greatly missed. I hope your memories give you comfort. Blessings to all.

This is very sad. We were the best of friends & will miss Ernie terribly. We tried to go every week to see him. Just last Saturday night we stopped in but could not communicate. He would tell us he missed us throughout the weeks. We have such wonderful memories of all the Oiler games we went to, the time spent at the cabin, supper out the many New Years Eves the 4 of us, when after Irene passed the 3 of us went. Also almost daily coffees at McDonald’s until Ernie quit coming. He cannot be replaced. I love this picture when he was healthy & looked so good.
