Very sorry to hear of Annie's passing. Condolences to you all--I know how much you will miss her. I saw her rarely over the last many years, but she always greeted me with such warmth, a giant hug, and her enthusiastic greeting of "Patricia!!". She was a large part of my childhood, and a good neighbour and friend and companion to my mom, Carrie. Life on the farm could be pretty isolating, and it was always fun when (Auntie) Annie came to visit. She and mom would talk and talk and talk, and Annie would usually make several trips to the door to leave, but then they'd get talking about something else and she'd sit back down again. Hours could pass this way. She added fun and zip to our lives. When I think about her now, I realize she was likely the first feminist I ever knew, although she may not have thought of herself this way. So independent, so strong, working in the fields and taking care of the farm, all her service work in the community, living life fearlessly on her own terms, or so it seemed to me. She was a sweetheart and was well loved by so many. I know she will live on in our hearts and memories. Much love.
