YAKIMOWICH, WILLIAM
January 15, 1927-December 23, 2015
It is with profound sadness and feelings of deep loss that the family of William Yakimowich of Two Hills announces his unexpected death.
Bill will be forever missed by his loving and devoted wife Muriel, his brother Mike (Ethel), sisters Kay Biholar, Ann (Gordon) Schmidt, Elsie Street, and Clara Fodchuk, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, a large extended family, and many friends. Bill was predeceased by his father Joseph, his mother Mary, and his brothers Steve, Walter, Pete, and Frank.
A cowboy at heart, Bill was passionate about life on the farm where he spent many hours tending to his cattle, gardening, and enjoying the richness of nature. A most honourable, generous, and hardworking man, he treasured spending time with family and friends, discussing current affairs, and engaging in a healthy debate. For enjoyment, Bill loved going to the rodeo, and with his great sense of humour, he never missed an opportunity to tease those he cared about.
A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Saturday, January 16th, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Autumn Rose Funeral Home in Vegreville with Reverend Father Michael Schumacher presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “Alberta Cancer Foundation” or the “Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.”
