I met the lovely Pauline in 1991 I believe I had just started at the Veg long term care! I had no idea what was going on but I wasn’t getting my cheque, I went to the front office and Met Pauline and told her I didn’t know what to do, she said “you know we are family right? I wasn’t married yet so I just said no I don’t think so and she went on to tell me how my future husband was her great cousin! I was like omg that’s so cool!! She said don’t you worry you will have a cheque on the next pay day she said I will fix it, and that she did!! And years later I was still enjoying her coffee visits and one of my favourite memories that made me laugh for days was when i took her and my mother in law bra shopping to Edmonton, it was a young girl who measured them up and Pauline told her she was nuts that her and my mother in law were no where near the large size she told them lol so neither would even try a bra on so off to the bay and they both bought themselves new bras and all the way home that’s all I heard and she just made me laugh so hard I’ll never forget it!! Pauline and my mother i law went on a bus trip to BC and I was their driver and I told Pauline I was going to repaint and decorate my mother in laws bedroom for a birthday surprise and Pauline chose the paint colour and boy did she have a hard time to keep that secret but she did, after their return I picked them up at the Edmonton greyhound and drove home! They were exhausted but Pauline said we may as well have coffee at your place (Olga, my mother i law) olga said sure, this was only because Pauline felt she helped and held this secret so she needed to see it first and she did! They both loved it thank goodness, she was a real bright light she was always laughing and smiling and had something funny to say even if she was mad lol!!!! I will truly miss her! She was definitely one of a kind!

To all in the Korpan family, I am very sorry for your loss. It doesn't matter how old you are, you are never truly ready to lose your mom. Aunty had the greatest laugh, but I'm not sure how good of a King Pedro player she was? I have many memories of an all day game. All such fond memories of a kind ,fun auntie that was always ready for a joke. Fly with the angels, Auntie. Much love, Diane and Jim Bowley

To the Korpan family As the eulogy said "Pauline was humble and kind". I had a huge admiration for Pauline, as I felt her courage, her spirit, and her undeniable strength. She and I connected during art sessions and I loved her paintings...the primitive element that spoke from her heart. She had an amazing life and is leaving an amazing legacy. I feel honored to have known her. "When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but live with the love they left behind."
