Dearest Lil & Family,
Little did I appreciate when I called from Australia this past August '23 to wish Larry a happy 87th birthday it would mark a final chapter in our 70 year lifelong friendship. In my mind Larry exemplifies the old adage of 'ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS'. Indeed, he was a man of constant action as his many personal and community achievements testify.
Larry will be deeply missed and long remembered.
Love and hugs to Dear Lil.
Fondest wishes from Joe Hawryluk and Wendy

Dear Lil, Des, Troy, and Lara,
I cannot begin to fathom the depth of your sorrow at the loss of Larry, a beloved father, husband, and my dear friend. The pain of losing someone so integral to our lives is immense, and words often fall short in expressing the heart's grief. Larry was a beacon of kindness, warmth, and unwavering support. His memories will forever be etched in our hearts, reminding us of the times we laughed, the moments we cherished, and the wisdom he shared.
While the void he has left can never truly be filled, know that he left an indelible mark on all who had the fortune of knowing him. His legacy lives on through each of you, and in the love and memories we all share. As time goes on, may you find solace in these memories, and strength in the knowledge that Larry's spirit continues to guide and watch over you.
In these challenging times, please remember that you are not alone. We stand beside you, sharing in your grief and offering our support. Larry Ruptash will be profoundly missed, but his love will forever surround us.
With deepest condolences,
Ken Rylance

Larry Ruptash
I never had a bad day with Larry Ruptash. Ever. Whether it was at the hockey rink, Chico’s, Leon’s Men’s Wear, the Shell station, Chin’s, the Veg exhibition grounds, or on the street, Larry always had a smile for me and encouraged me. We always seemed to talk about sports, especially hockey and football.
In his later years, while serving on a government board, he would sometimes sneak over to my Edmonton clinic in to say Hi. And talk about the EE and the Oilers.
I lost a fab friend this week. I will miss him. My heart and prayers go out to Lil, Deserrie, Troy, and Lara.

Larry Ruptash will be greatly missed but his legacy lives on in all the people (friends, family, and fellow citizens of Vegreville and beyond) for whom were fortunate enough to know him personally and benefit from the improvements he spearheaded in his public-service leadership roles. The Right Honourable Don Mazankowski and his wife Lorraine, cherished Larry’s friendship. Don had always said with pride and genuine fondness, that Larry was one of his closest and loyal friends. On behalf of the Mazankowski family, we offer our sincerest condolences to Lil, and the entire family. May all the wonderful memories you’ve shared together comfort you during this period of mourning and always. Much love and hugs from Roger, Sheryi, and Lorraine Mazankowski.

Sincerest condolences to the Ruptash family. Larry was a driving force in his community, province and country. He was courteous to the nth degree and always had the time to say hello and chat. I first met Larry when he worked with my dad (John Batiuk) on provincial election campaigns. An astute politician, he always worked for the betterment of Vegreville and community. He shall be missed. May God grant him eternal rest. Mnohia Lita.
