We have known Doug and Gayle for the better part of fifty years. From the time we met them in Aldergrove when Naomi was 18 months old to the most recent visit to Innisfree in May, we have been fast friends and friends forever. We have had many, many happy memories and fun times together. Our dear Doug was a very, very special and loving person and we loved to hear him laugh! He helped me a few times in the culinary world in his English way, by telling me I could serve with "crisps". Crisps you say - what are those!! We laughed and laughed. Our families had many happy and yummy meals together and we all enjoyed sharing them. When Gayle and Doug moved to Innisfree we missed them terribly but we knew that is was the place they were supposed to be. Being close to Naomi and her family was priority and moving through these hard times is a blessing for Gayle. Rest in peace Doug our beautiful dear friend - we love you. Gail and Ron and family.

To our dear brother Doug, you will stay in our hearts forever.
We have so many precious memories of our times together, including the helicopter trip to the Isle of Man TT and trip to the Air Museum at Duxford. Our last trip to Canada was full of love, laughter and remembering the chicken dinner you made for all of us. The times we spent together were few, but when we got together it was as if we had never been apart.
We will miss you.
Love you, always in our thoughts, the best brother.

Doug will always hold a special place in our hearts and will be remembered for his loud and booming laugh, his Donald Duck impersonations which kept Jenna and Ryan in giggles as they followed him around in hopes he would keep quacking. If you stayed overnight for a visit you were always greeted with "Good morning Sweets". Whatever the season you were always offered a ride on the tractor and if you were lucky you got to ride in the bucket! And yes the memories of Doug's meals will always leave you drooling.
There was no finer brother-in-law or uncle for us.
His kindness and love always shone through and lifted your spirits.
Doug closed the 75th circle and moved on to his next adventure. He will be missed but his memories will keep him alive in our hearts.
Love you "Sweets"
Tom, and Sharon Gowan
